spaceworks is happy to present an evening of experimental music and video, in continuation of our program EXPERIMENTALworks, which features the works of emerging artists in our new midtown location. The performance coincides with the final day of the gallery exhibit Walking Slowly.

A partial list of artists:

Toshoklabs is a music and sound art consortium, founded in 1997 by brothers Nate and Chad Harrison and Ron Croudy. The group has released music by electronic artists from the US and UK to critical acclaim, scored for film and television, and exhibited and performed at museums and new media events in and around New York City; Chiaki Watanabe is a multimedia artist/designer who utilizes a wide range of media(motion graphics, video, web, etc) to create artwork with diverse interests in the fields of psychology, performance art, architecture and experimental music. Her work has been shown throughout Europe, South America and the U.S.; Stefan Tcherepnin, Sergei Tcherepnin, and Laura Steele use analog synthesizers, homebuilt circuits, and photography in their live music presentations; Shuan Irons & Lauren Petty are visual artists whose videos explore the capabilities of digital technology while examining the emotional terrain of memory, time and place. They received a NYFA fellowship in 2002 and show work around the U.S. and abroad; John Roach; Noah Klersfeld; Eunjung Hwang; Barry Anderson; Carrie Dashow & Josh Weinstein and others will participate in the evening.

THE TANK is a non-profit space for the performing and visual arts, showing new work by emerging artists across disciplines. spaceworks @ THE TANK is the venue's basement art gallery which organizes exhibits and performances of experimental visual and sonic art.
